(I am using the book Julia Cameron’s book. “Walking in this World “*note Julia Cameron is referred to as JC
as a guide track. Quickly looking back at last weeks post here, if you would like a recap)

Weekly Posts that give one key creative tip to snack on and  help you develop your own creativity.

Plus yokittyjo’s artist of the week

This week as I have been reading through the next chapter by Julia Cameron’s Book , Walking in this World on Creative “Anger” is a Call to Action.
From reading the chapter here is my creative takeaways for the week

(Note: I prefer the word frustrations, anger is a little to on the dark side and not what these posts are about.)

  1. When our creativity is fueling, our frustrations or we are feeling small, is it a call for us take action and not fritter away energy in complaining ?
  2. How does our creative frustrations ask us to step up to the plate and travel down the path that we may be avoiding?
  3. Why do we retreat  into our creative frustrations, by stewing on them, when we should be stepping forward ?
  4. Where are you stubborn in your own creative beliefs, list one ? (I believe this is an asset )
  5. What can you do about it ?

What are your experiences and suggestions in helping creativity flourish ? Leave me a comment

Plus yokittyjo’s artist of the week.
I am always swayed by sweeping melodic electronic with a touch of shoegazing. Two of my favorite producers into one Trentemøller
remixing M83. tune “Midnight City” Enjoy

  • About

Yokittyjo’s chilled, emotional music combines the vintage electronica of the masterful Portishead, with the flushed emotion of Bat for Lashes and the lyrical poignancy of Lana del Ray, a perfect combination of strength and soul food. As something of a sonic chameleon, Yokittyjo has moved from a background filled with opera and choral music, through a career as dance VJ pioneer ‘Jmg13’, to making 21st century sounds that are brought to life by technology and inspired by colourful experience. Influences as diverse as Tom Middleton, Fleetwood Mac, Blondie and early dub step have resulted in ‘Glassandra’ and ‘Don't Know Why,’ two independently released tracks that contain a winning combination of lightness, life and bass. As well as a blossoming singer, Yokittyjo is a multitalented artist, working on collaborations with international producers, throwing herself into online outlets as a medium for performance, and developing other projects, such as musical catalogue for film and TV sync. If you haven’t yet experienced the emotive sounds of Yokittyjo, it’s about time you got on board. jo@yokittyjo.com
